What is Generosity Project?
The Generosity Project at Living Hope is our missions giving avenue.
Where does the money go?
Our Generosity Project Partners are missionaries and missions organizations whose main purpose is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. These partners are located in Madras, across the state of Oregon, throughout the United States, and in many foreign countries.
How much of my donation actually goes to missionaries?
100% of offerings given to the Generosity Project are given to our Generosity Project Partners. Your tithes to Living Hope allow us to pay the bills and all of the administrative costs associated with managing the Generosity Project allowing us to bless our GP Partners with 100% of what is given to us.
What is the difference between a tithe and an offering?
The tithe is the first 10 percent of your income that God calls you to give to your local church. An offering is any money you choose to give above and beyond the tithe.
Do I need to fill out a pledge card?
Your pledge helps us determine how many missionaries and at what amounts we can promise to support for the upcoming calendar year. Based on your pledges we make commitments to our GP Partners for the upcoming year so they can plan and budget accordingly.
Will I get a bill for what I pledge?
No, absolutely not. We trust that God will provide the money that we’ve promised to our GP Partners.
When can I make a pledge?
The months of November and December are when we make plans for the upcoming year so that we can make commitments to our GP Partners. However, you are welcome to make a pledge at any time of the year with the full assurance that your offerings will be disbursed with joy to any possibility of areas with great need.
Can I give even if I haven’t filled out a pledge card?
Yes. Many needs come up throughout the year that we love to respond to even if it’s something that we haven’t made a prior commitment to. Through the Generosity Project we’re able to respond to opportunities as varied as missionary building projects to natural disasters.
Is it all about the money?
Well, money certainly is important, but no, it’s not all about the money. Just like you and I, our missionaries have to have money to pay their bills. This is their full-time job and the money that we commit to them is part of their monthly salary. Even more important though is to be praying for our missionaries.
